Introduction of DKCC
Introduction
What is DKCC?
Kuubo
- I (Kuubo) used to go to DKCC since eighth grade.
- I'm an outsider who didn't hand in a notice of joining in the end.
- Nevertheless, I have been paying club dues properly.
- I often visit the club before the annual school festival season as an ex-member of the club now.
This Document
In this document, I introduce DKCC as looking back over the past. So, these contents may be different from current condition of the club.

Details of Annual Schedule
- Giving out handbills at the entrance ceremony
- Distributing handbills to new students. The handbills say about the place of DKCC and experiments which are held in DKCC.
- Experiments to attract new students (*1)
- Doing experiments for new students to get new comers. Experiments which are simple and easy to understand were often done. (e.g. Slime, Volcano, ...)
- Preparation for lodging together in summer
- Thinking questions which will be asked in the summer staying, etc. I think this is a weak point of our club annually.
- Preparation for lodging together in summer (*2)
- For searching materials which are used in the annual school festival, and for strengthening friendships between members, staying and lodging together to the place where a chemistry is related to. (e.g. hydro generation plant, nuclear generationg plant, steel mill, paper mill, ...)
- The rumor says it also contains sightseeing a lot.
- Small lodging together (if it was decided to held) (*2)
- Staying in the school in summer vacation. The meaning of strengthening friendships between members is bigger than completing the results of summer lodging.
- Preparation for the annual school festival
- After the summer vacation, activity of DKCC is getting more and more active due to a preparation for the annual school festival.
- Lodging together just before the annual school festival (*2)
- Staying in the school 2 days before the festival and making the final push for the festival. Staying only 1 day is OK. Some of ex-members of DKCC are often come in this term.
- The annual school festival
- →Activities for The Annual School Festival
- The off-season
- The festival ends, off season comes. The only members who wants to act may act. (→Usual Activities)
- Small lodging together in winter (if it was decided to held) (*2)
- Staying in the school will be held if there is strong demand from members. (I don't have any experience anyway.)
- Planning next year's lodging together
- After the turn of the year, planning next year's lodging together in summer.
- Transfer of official duties
- Deciding captain, sub-captain, accountant, etc. and taking over their works from former officials to new officials.
- *1 You can join DKCC all the year round if it isn't an "experiments to attract" season.
- *2 You can take part in every lodging at will, and the expense is separated from club dues.
Activities for The Annual School Festival
This is the place where DKCC members present the results of annual activities. It is said that DKCC is active for the festival only.
In our era, we were devided into the "show group" and the "experiment group," and prepared to the annual school festival every year.
The show group mainly summarizes what we've gotten in lodging together in summer, and show those in museum style. This preparation is hard work, but comparatively they can act freely on the day of the annual school festival.
The experiment group intently experiments for visitors on the day of the annual school festival. (If alternation system is adopted, it is not that they can't act freely all day.)
Besides, the whole DKCC makes a booklet "Chemistry" every year. The contents are mainly about lodging together in summer or an article which meets the annual school festival's theme, and the rest is an article about science which is written by who wants to write.
Usual Activities
- When I was an active member, we defined every Friday "(The) Experiment Day" and usually we experimented or did researches on only that day.
- However, the experiment day is often changed or called off for teacher's circumstances.
- Each of member basically does what he wants to do.
- From easy experiments (e.g. fireworks) to experiments that requires a great deal of time (e.g. crystallizing salt), we really used to do various things.
- On the day except the experiment day, we played baseball, cards or with computers as our thinks fit.
- It may be drawback that there weren't so many activity days because the club was too free.
The Place of Activity
DKCC members are mainly in the experiment room or the next room, clubroom. We sometimes experiment in the second science room.
The experiment room is on the first storey in Meiseikan, the second science room is on the first floor in Yuuaikan.
Club Dues
Club dues were usually collected after the annual school festival.
When I was an active member, it was the standard rate that 2000yen/year for senior high school students, 1000yen/year for junior high school students. I don't know current them.
Incidentally, each year of club dues are determined by between the accounting and the advisor. We compare the last year's account with this year's, but they are usually almost the same.
